My Television Is The Tabernacle

"My television is the tabernacle."
~Mother Teresa~

I just loved this quote from Mother Teresa.  I can really relate, especially when
there are days when the only peace I find is the ability to
close my eyes and picture Jesus here with us on earth,
there on the altar,
waiting for us to come to Him like little children.

It's been a long week around here with a household of sick kids, including Mama.
It's hard to keep up with prayer life when there's sleepless nights
and bedsides to be tended to.
Regular chores pile up and household duties slip out of their regular routine.

Tomorrow is Monday and the week begins all over again.
I start to feel weary about the tasks ahead with husband gone for a week.
But then I remember to close my eyes and turn on the television for a little peace and quiet...
The tabernacle is my television.

I can picture the Prince of Peace
waiting to guide me through the week
His Mother is there too,
Hostess of the show,
leading us directly to His loving arms.
We are never alone,
when our television is the tabernacle.

"The greatest love story of all time is contained in a tiny white host."
~Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen~

  1. Thank you, Tiffany! I really appreciated reading the quotes and your thoughts.

  2. I hope you are all feeling better this week! We had a virus run through our house last week too and it really does throw things off kilter. Certainly doesn't help when husbands are not available to pick up the slack. Praying for a better week!!

  3. Yes. Mondays like that are daunting indeed. Especially without help around. But, I think you are on the right track. When I'm filled with anxiety over the amount of work in the upcoming week or days husband always tells me to remain focused on one thing: Jesus. Keep Him in the forefront. I will lift you in prayer today and this week. May you find the strength and peace to accomplish what He wants you to! What a lovely post.

  4. this is a beautiful methaphor. we indeed need to gaze at the tabernacle in out minds. Oh, I think the way you fo too on Sunday nights, when I'm faced with another week of things to do, places to go, people to see, it gets overwhelming. I need to prepare by focusing on the tabernacle. thank you for this post Tiffany. it's really helping my Monday today!

  5. I saw the title for your post in someone else's sidebar and had to click over! I have not seen either of these quotes before and they truly made my heart smile! Thank you!!

  6. Love the Fulton Sheen quote! Isn't he amazing?

  7. What a great reminder! I will be praying for your quick recovery and for the strength to have a good week even though your husband is away!

    God Bless,

  8. Tiffany, re your question. I posted my Blessed Miguel folder here:
