Birthday Blessings Dear Holy Father!

Bavarian Sponge Cake
We've had a busy week so I ran out of time to make birthday cupcakes in honor of our Holy Father's 84th Birthday.  I found this Bavarian sponge cake in the Produce Department of our grocery store...
How perfect with Pope Benedict XVI being born in Bavaria!
Topping:
Greek Honey Yogurt
Blueberry's in honor of Our Lady and St. Bernadette of Lourdes Feast Day (also 4/16)
Whipped Cream
{We also added more fresh blueberries after we cut the sponge cake~Fresh and Yummy!)

Almighty and everlasting God, have mercy upon Thy servant, Benedict, our Supreme Pontiff, and direct him, according to Thy loving-kindness, in the way of eternal salvation; that, of thy gift, he may ever desire that which is pleasing unto thee and may accomplish it with all his might. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen (Roman Ritual).
I also posted this birthday dessert over at Catholic Cuisine.
