First Holy Communion Resource Review

I know that sharing resources can often be repetitive but sometimes it's nice to view other family's favorites and maybe glean a new idea or two.
These are a few supplemental First Holy Communion resources that have become our family favorites over the years.  (And a few new ones too!) In addition to our primary Faith And Life for Grade 3, these were a few of our favorite supplemental reading books to help Princess prepare to grow closer to Jesus:
Note: Ignatius Press has the updated book with new Roman Missal and FREE resources to download and accompany Faith and Life.
Princess particularly enjoyed the stories in First Communion Days.
At the beginning of the year. she chose St. Kateri Tekakwitha as her First Holy Communion Patron Saint.  This was a neat thing to do. We incorporated prayers for her intercession and included some reading about her as well.  It felt like St. Kateri was truly accompanying Princess on her journey. This coloring/reading book was an Easter gift...
Princess is an avid reader so it was a joy to witness her plowing through these faith-filled books:
We also created a binder/notebook at the beginning of the year.  We weren't as faithful about keeping up all along the way, as I had hoped.  It is our prayer to keep working at it through the summer!  Here are a few sample pages to get the idea...
~Binder Cover~
Sample pages~Prayer and Commandments
Adoration
Consecration and Prayers for Copy Work...
A few more favorite coloring...
I really liked these Coloring Books (below) with their "talking" pictures...Neat concept!
Favorite DVD's...Love ALL of these!
These coloring books were new for us this year.  We really like them, though we ran out of time to spend a lot of time with them.  They have lovely Saint stories to accompany the coloring!  What I loved about them is the sections where the reader is asked to think it over and also make some promises at the end of each Saint story. I look forward to exploring these more.  I also found these at Mother of Our Savior Company.
The First Holy Communion Banner has become a tradition in our family to put together.  It makes a lovely decoration and then our First Communicant gets to hang it in their room afterwards!
Illuminated Ink does a lovely job with these kits and they are so easy to put together!
During the final days of preparation we found this beautiful novena FREE online.
This was a beautiful way to wrap things up and concentrate our hearts on the days leading up to receiving Jesus.  We made these fun treats to go along with the novena!  They worked out perfectly with First Holy Communion also taking place during the Easter season.
I posted more details over at Catholic Cuisine!
Princess received a St. Kateri doll as a gift from Mom and Dad for her First Holy Communion.  She was so excited!  These dolls are definitely a costly gift but the quality and soft pliability is amazing.  You certainly get what you pay for!

May the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ Preserve My Soul unto Life Everlasting.
Amen.
