50 Days of Easter~2010

Today is Easter Thursday, 2010... and we find ourselves, once again, at the foot of the cross(literally!)
This week we are celebrating the greatest feast of the Church year....The resurrection of Jesus! This fifty-day period in the Church is when we celebrate Christ's resurrection in our lives, leading us to His Ascension and Pentecost on the 50th day.

The kids had the idea to use our Lenten Cross that Dad/Hubby made for a countdown of these 50 days.

We chose the dove to use as our countdown symbol since it represents the peace we all feel with the glory of the resurrection. And Easter obedience means accepting Christ's peace! It also represents the Holy Spirit that we are eagerly awaiting.
We Praise You O, Lord!

We ended up spraying the back of our Lenten Cross white to make it an Easter Cross!  This way we can use both sides.  The purple side will be used for Lent and the white side will be used for Easter.  This is a photo of our countdown up to this point.
This is the "Completed Look" after the 50 Days!
The 50th Day was marked with a Pentecostal Dove!
