Reflections of a Firefighter's Wife

As St. Francis de Sales said, "We must begin with love, continue with love, and end with love."

I am thankful for the love of this man, my dear husband who is the St. Joseph of our family. He works so hard and never complains. He is often away from our family for several days but he still comes home ready to serve and care for us. I am so thankful to God for bringing him into my life and for the love we share.

I recently read a beautiful quote by Pope Benedict XVI that I thought was fitting to my husband: "Being a Christian means essentially changing over from being for oneself to being for one another."

I pray for the intercession of St. Florian and St. Michael to keep him safe while he is away from us.

PRAYER TO
SAINT MICHAEL
THE ARCHANGEL
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen..

O glorious prince St. Michael,
chief and commander of the heavenly hosts,
guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits,
servant in the house of the Divine King
and our admirable conductor,
you who shine with excellence
and superhuman virtue deliver us from all evil
, who turn to you with confidence
and enable us by your gracious protection
to serve God more and more faithfully every day.
