With all of our imperfections, we begin and end each day at the foot of the cross. It is here where our story begins and we pray it is where it will end. "Jesus said: Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light." ~Matthew 11:28-30~

Annual Pilgrimage to Calvary Hill
My late husband died on Good Friday and is now buried in Calvary Hill Cemetery. I am blessed by the beautiful ironies that connect us to Our Lord and Savior. We try to make an annual pilgrimage to clean the gravesite and remember those who have gone before us. It is a cathartic journey during Lent, reflecting on the corporal work of mercy of burying the dead. My oldest son was only 6 months old when his father died. He doesn't remember his father but he knows, through tradition, what a great man he was.
