First Holy Communion Countdown

We are in the final stages of a First Holy Communion preparation at our house!  Everyone in our household is so excited for Princess.  The checklists are in full swing to make sure everything is special on Saturday.   My Mom had oil portraits made of me and my four siblings at the time of our First Holy Communion.  I have decided to follow suit with my own children as I love the old fashioned look.
~These are the oil paintings of me and my 5 siblings~
Me at the time of my First Holy Communion...
This day and age, with technology, they do everything by computer.  There are special programs to give it "the look" of an oil painting.  I started with my oldest son and Princess will be the third child to make it to our Family's First Holy Communion Hall of Fame!  This is what their portraits look like.  Can you tell they are oil painted via computer?
Here's a close up:
I had the photos taken for Princess so hers is in the works.  Meanwhile, the studio had a beautiful outdoor setting so I snapped a few other photos with my Iphone while we were waiting!
The gardens were gorgeous!
5 more days!
"No two substances have to undergo more to become what they are than do wheat and grapes.  One passes through the Gethsemane of a mill, the other through the Calvary of the winepress."

  2. Thanks, Lena! From the beginning of her preparation this year, Princess chose St. Kateri Tekakwitha to be her First Holy Communion Patron Saint.
