Alleluia (Dollar) Tree

Introducing the Alleluia Tree, repurposed from the Dollar Tree egg tree!
The Dollar tree is carrying these cute little egg trees right now and the eggs sold separately (there too).  When I saw a recent Pottery Barn catalog with their letter eggs, my wheels went turning, pondering how I could make something sweetly sacred from the dazzling secular.  Granted, my $2.00 Alleluia tree isn't exactly the Pottery Barn egg tree but hey, it's centered on Christ.  I thought these made a great craft for the latter part of Lent as we prepare for the coming of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday.  If you picked up the materials now, it might make a fun craft to do during the Easter season, as we celebrate the glory of the risen Lord...Alleluia!
The trees come with painted pots, as seen here.  The only thing I did was add the Alleluia letter stickers, the cross sticker on the pot, and the Christ resurrected sticker for the top.  I had all of these on hand.  Since the eggs are not premium quality, I added a dab of Mod Podge to seal the stickers and a tad bit of hot glue to secure the egg ornaments in place.  "Alleluia", an easy liturgical craft and secular-gone-sacred!

  3. Hi Tiffany!
I went to the Dollar Tree this weekend too! LOL! And I tell ya, I end up there for over an hour perusing the ideas of crafts in my mind.

I love your Alleluia TREE! so nice. Do you make your own Modg Podge? Where I live in South Florida, Modge Podge is about 12 dollars for a large size container at AC Moore.
