Every week has its blessings but there are some that just stand out a little more than others. Sometimes blessings come in big sizes but I find them, most often, in little sprinkles. One thing's for sure, we've had a lot of unusual rain this week...This has enhanced the "sprinkles" in our blessings like this gorgeous full rainbow! Isn't it an amazing grace when God captures our awe?
I pulled over from our drive to try to snap a few photos before the clouds swept the color away! My phone doesn't quite replace a good camera.
Nevertheless, we got a few nice shots to record our memories.
And my beloved Captain made his way home for 1.5 days this week...Woo Hoo!
Our WWE (World Wide Marriage Encounter) Secret Couple brightened one of our evenings with a fun surprise...Some cute love candles and bath salts to "sprinkle." They later brought goodies for a fun movie night. These were thoughtful little blessings, followed by a very sweet blessing, sprinkled by some bloggy friends!
We have been exchanging post cards as a fun geography lesson. My children loved how Patty explained each animal on the postcard, native to their state!
These giant Texas-style jelly beans just sprinkled BIG joy, sugar, and smiles throughout our whole week. They graced our kitchen table, a long with the cards all week too. Thank you, dear Patty and family!
Getting out and about for some exercise (walks) in between the rains, was much needed for my sanity this week. I feel so blessed to have our parish within walking distance from our home. I can pop in for a quick prayer at God's house or pay a visit to Our Lady.
She is always generous with her sprinkles!
"Love Mary!...She is lovable, faithful, constant. She will never let herself be outdone in love."
~St. Gabriel Possenti~
I can also peek out my sliding back door to this lovely Mary garden that my family planted for Mother's Day!
We really need to replace poor St. Francis who has a broken arm!
"O Virgin Lady...far more pure than the sun in its rays of shining splendor...truly have you appeared as a stem whose flower is your true Son, our Christ, my God and my Maker."
~St. Ephrem~
What else should I want or need?...
Just the "basic" needs, that's all. ..sprinkles of blessings can even be found in the bathroom! You know those few minutes of peace that Mothers and Fathers can steal behind closed doors, maybe if we're lucky!? If you are like us, we keep lots of hopeful reading there. I picked up this little gem today in our bathroom. I hadn't looked at it for quite awhile. In fact, I had forgotten all about it! There were many quotes that made me smile, bringing many unexpected sprinkles of inspiration to my day. By the way, it would make a great gift!
I loved this little quote from the book. It sums up my many unexpected blessings that sprinkled my world this week:
"The man who said "Blessed is he that expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed," put the eulogy quite inadequately and even falsely. The truth is, "Blessed is he that expecteth nothing for he shall be gloriously surprised." The man who expects nothing sees redder roses than common men can see and greener grass and a more startling sun."
~G.K. Chesterton~
blessed are the mothers of the world who take the time to notice the sprinkles of blessings. and you sure do, Tiffany. Our good Lord sends blessings constantly and I pray that I can recognize them more often. I love your parish Our Lady (looks like Fatima?) arrangement in the field. Just beautiful. Our Lady brightens our world daily doesn't she? thanks for sharing your blessed week.
ReplyDeleteAmen to Gardenia's comment!

The book...in the bathroom! That is where I sometimes look for my escape and to find blessings in that room...brilliant idea:)

It is all about the little things in life that bring such joy, isn't it Tiffany? It sounds like you had a beautiful week filled with much grace! I love the way you see the sweet grace filled side of life. Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures. I especially love the ones with the sun streaming through on the Mary gardens. What a nice way to begin my morning!
ReplyDeleteI hope you find many more moments sprinkled throughout your weekend.
Hi Tiffany, I love Gardenia's comment too! I believe that is how we can live joy filled lives by noticing the sprinkles of blessings! We are blessed beyond our imaginations, we just have to slow down and be in the moment... reverent to Jesus and His mother, in awe of their graces that flow from Heaven above! We have to take note. Something I need to work on myself.
ReplyDeleteYour Mary garden is beautiful as well as your church's. Have a Blessed weekend!
